Walter passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 13th at the Ste. Rose General Hospital at 8:00 AM at the age of 75 years following a series of strokes. His beloved step-daughter Carolyn and her husband Dale were at his side.
Walter was born on April 4, 1935 at Mink Creek, Manitoba, son of Paul & Mary (Furcyk) Sadoway, one of twelve children. His parents passed away when he was 13 years old. Walter and his brother Victor and sister Patsy went into foster care at the home of Jake and Marge Krohn in Freedale. School was not for Walter, he refused to go so he worked on various farms in the area.
Walter worked on the CN Crew, as well as diamond drilling, on various construction crews, and most of his working career was spent working for the RM of Lawrence where he worked until his retirement in 1999.
Walter was a very easy going man with very little temper. He would help anyone who needed help and always paid his own way. His step daughter Carolyn spent a lot of time with him. They did chores together, hunted and got firewood together. Walter also taught her to drive, both tractors and vehicles. He really missed her when she moved from home in 1980.
Walter will be sadly missed by his family and all of his friends in the Rorketon Area.
He leaves to mourn his passing; his ex-wife Tena Sadoway, his stepdaughters Carolyn (Dale), Linda (Tom) and stepson Billy (Carol), his sister Patsy Good and brother Albert Sadoway all of Winnipeg, his brother Steven of Brandon, his sister Nettie of Thunder Bay along with their families and many friends.
A memorial service for Walter was held on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Rorketon Drop In Centre, Rorketon, Manitoba. Ms. Isabelle Fiola led the service with Elaine Bonnett giving the eulogy. Interment followed in St. John’s Cemetery, Rorketon. Bob Bonnett served as urn bearer.

| Obituary: |
Peacefully, on April 12th , 2010, Mary Phyllis Sahulka (Borowski) passed away surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born on November 6th, 1916, on the family farm near Fork River, Manitoba. Growing up, she attended school in Fork River and Sifton and she attended Normal School in Brandon to become a teacher. After that she taught in area schools at South Bay, Camperville, Lac du Bonnet, Small Creek, Pine View and Fork River.
She met Walter Sahulka while teaching at South Bay and eventually they married on December 27th, 1943. They moved to and took over Mary’s family farm where they raised their four children.
During her teaching career Mary was well respected and is remembered fondly by many previous students who still reside in the area.
At home on the farm, her love was her garden, the flowers, vegetables and visiting song birds. Mary was a wonderful cook and everyone will miss her delicious cinnamon buns, jelly rolls and dill pickles. Her and Walter also spent many hours picking berries and mushrooms, fishing and camping. Her favourite pastime activities included reading, crossword puzzles, embroidery and playing bingo.
She had a spontaneous, witty sense of humour that would sometimes catch you so off guard that you couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Her generous nature and willingness to give will be greatly missed.
Her memory will be cherished by her children, Danny (Dianna) Sahulka of Toutes Aides; Carole (Allan) Thompson of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia; Phyllis (Roy) Fenwick of Dauphin; and daughter-in-law Bev Lombaert of Fork River.
